Important: Prowler and Theft of Property in BME on 4-9-23
On the morning of April 9th at approximately 3 am, a prowler was seen on the video and Ring cameras of a few residents, as he wandered through our community. He was allegedly looking for extra, unattached propane tanks; he found two of these on the patios of residents, which he then proceeded to steal.
Once we were able to identify the two residents who had their propane tanks stolen, SCPD was contacted. An officer arrived promptly, took information, and a police report was completed.
It is extremely important for all residents to promptly report any instances of unwelcome visitors observed either in person or on camera to Meghan, our property manager, and to the HOA board.
Currently, our bylaws prohibit changing architectural elements, such as overhead garage lighting fixtures. However, in consideration of this latest incident, the HOA board will be discussing the need to adjust this rule so that we may all take some personal measures to help maintain a safe enviroment in our community.
The links below contain footage captured by the cameras of residents showing the perpetrator trespassing through our community and then walking off with two propane tanks.
