Dear Residents,

The board has reviewed the situation that occurred at the end of July when the front entry gates failed and residents were unable to get their vehicles through the gates for a short period of time.  However, any resident who was stuck at the gate and needed to get home quickly could have walked into the community at any time by temporarily moving their car to Parkland, the enclave of homes across Church Street, and parking along the curb until the gates could be opened.

As mentioned previously, a board member should be contacted immediately if the gates fail to open.

Effective September 1, 2024, as an added method of accessing the community if the entry gates become disabled due to weather-related events, or some other unlikely type of failure, a key to the emergency access gate padlock on Church Street (at the south end of our community near Unit 100) is now available in the clubhouse.  The key will be stored in a lockbox (combination is 1600) located on the right entry wall as you enter the Great Room.  Additional directions are posted on the lockbox itself.  THE KEY IS ONLY TO BE USED IF NO BOARD MEMBERS ARE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST AT THE FRONT GATE, AND THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO ACCESS (OR EXIT) THE COMMUNITY. THE KEY IS TO BE RETURNED TO THE LOCKBOX IMMEDIATELY AFTER USING.  

Please note, anyone removing the key from this lockbox will be recorded on video camera, so please be sure to return it as soon as possible after opening the emergency gate.

While we never expect to have both entry gates fail to open, we recognize that all HOMEOWNERS should be aware that there is another way to enter our community by ulocking the padlock to the emergency gate at the other end of our community.  Any HOMEOWNER can obtain the key to the emergency gate padlock from the lockbox mounted on the wall of the Great Room.  This key is to be used for an emergency only, when NO BOARD MEMBERS CAN BE REACHED, and when there is no other way to access (or exit) the community.
