BME Boundary Fence Damaged
on or about 4-6-23
UPDATE 5-24-23
Roberts Fence Company has repaired the fence!
The legislative committee is working with our local legislators to obtain a guardrail on the south Sunrise Service Road as a safety precaution towards future accidents that may damage our property. Additional information will be provided as progress is made.
UPDATE 5-2-23
We are still obtaining repair estimates. Once the board reviews these estimates, a company will be selected and the repair will be made, hopefully by mid-May.
UPDATE - 4-19-23
We have confirmed that no police report was filed by the unknown driver of the vehicle who destroyed this portion of our boundary fence. Our management company has subsequently filed a police report. We are now obtaining repair estimates and will be repairing the fence as soon as possible.
Original information: It is believed that sometime between April 6 and 7, the north boundary fence behind Johnny's Path was significantly damaged by what appears to have been a single vehicle crash. Extensive damage to our community property boundary fence will no doubt result in a costly repair if we do not meet our insurance deductible for property damage.
Our management company and HOA board will continue to investigate how this occurred and who may be responsible for the damage by attempting to obtain an accident report, "if" one was filed. Unfortunately, it is possible that this was a single vehicle "crash-through-the-fence-and-run" accident, which may have occurred in the early morning hours with no witnesses. If that is the case, it is likely that the SCPD was not contacted by the driver and no report is on file. This would make it nearly impossible to recover financial damages from the driver.
We will be following up with SCPD and will be obtaining repair estimates in the coming weeks. Please be patient with the repair process, as it is expected to take at least several weeks before the repair is completed.
Once again, if anyone has any information regarding this event, please inform our property manager and the HOA board as soon as possible. Thank you...
